On April 30, 2015 the Boca Raton Airport Authority once again proudly presented a $25,000 donation to the Ken A. Day Scholarship, administered by the George Snow Scholarship Fund.
The Ken A. Day Scholarship was established in 2013 in memory of Ken A. Day, the Boca Raton Airport’s long-term Airport manager. Mr. Day sadly passed away in June of 2013. The scholarship provides merit-based awards to Palm Beach County students pursuing careers in aviation management, which was Mr. Day’s passion.
James Bukowski, a 2014 graduate of Seminole Ridge Community High School, received the first annual scholarship. He is currently attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL, seeking a degree in Aerospace Engineering.
The Boca Raton Airport Authority has donated to the scholarship fund each year since its inception. At the April 2015 Authority meeting, the Board voted to donate an additional $25,000 to the fund.
This year’s deserving student will be awarded the Ken Day Scholarship during the George Snow Scholarship Fund Annual Awards Reception on June 4, 2015.
The George Snow Scholarship Fund, a Boca Raton-based 501(c) 3 Public Charity, provides educational grants to some of the areas brightest and most deserving young scholars. These scholarships are four-year commitments and are designed to bridge the gap between other financial aid and what the scholar and their families can afford.
