Boca Raton Fire Rescue and Boca Raton Airport Authority team up for onsite emergency response training.
At the Boca Raton Airport, safety is always priority number one. Beyond the Engineered Materials Arresting System (EMAS), we take numerous precautions to ensure the welfare of those who use the Airport. One way we do this is through extensive training and preparation.
For the past two weeks, over 200 Boca Raton Fire Rescue personnel have attended emergency response training courses at the Airport. The program took a personalized approach to training, first dividing the Fire Rescue members into smaller groups. Then, the groups attended twice-a-day courses inside the classroom and out on the airfield, giving attendees a well-rounded, hands-on experience.
Travis Bryan, the Airport’s Operations Manager, took each Fire Rescue team on a guided tour of a few winged aircraft, explaining how they operate and the fire safety challenges that each aircraft poses.
By the end of the training sessions, the Fire Rescue teams had gained a deeper understanding of airfield safety and are now better prepared for emergency situations involving aircraft in and around the airfield.
Thank You to All Involved in the Emergency Response Training
We would love to thank Boca Aircraft Maintenance for being especially accommodating.
This training exercise would not have been possible without them allowing us to use their facility. Also, thank you to Operations Manager Travis Bryan, who led the courses and played a vital role in making these last two weeks a success.
And, of course, a special thank you to the brave men and women of Boca Raton Fire Rescue who help keep all of us safer on a daily basis.
