After a distinguished career with the Boca Raton Airport, Deputy Executive Director Janet Sherr has retired.
Sherr served on the BRAA Board from 1999 to 2009, holding the positions of Member, Vice Chair and Chair. Following a decade on the Board, she joined the BRAA staff in 2009 as the Director of Strategic Business and External Communications, until eventually being promoted to Deputy Executive Director of Business Administration.
During her 17 years with the Airport, Sherr was essential in growing it into the premier general aviation facility that it is today. She played an integral role in bringing a Customs and Border Protection facility to the Airport, an achievement that will benefit Boca Raton for generations to come.
Sherr also spearheaded the founding of the Ken A. Day Scholarship and has continued to champion it as a long-term resource for aspiring aviation students. Since being established in 2013, the Scholarship has helped some of the brightest Palm Beach County students pursue their dreams in aviation-related fields.
Though Sherr is retiring from her position, her accomplishments will continue to shape the future of aviation in South Florida.
The BRAA thanks Janet Sherr for her work with the Airport, and bids her farewell as she embarks on the next chapter of her life.
