A Presidential TFR has been issued for our area from February 16, 2018 at 5:15 PM until February 19, 2018 at 5:00 PM. The Boca Raton Airport is located within the 30 NM outer ring of this TFR. Aircraft operations within this 30 NM outer ring are limited to arriving and departing traffic unless authorized by ATC. All aircraft operating within this outer ring must:
- Be on an active VFR or IFR flight plan.
- Squawk an assigned discreet code.
- Remain in radio contact with ATC.
All flight training, such as pattern work and practice approaches, are prohibited while the TFR is in effect.
Operators are required to check with FBO’s for parking availability as space is limited.
In addition to the usual Presidential TFR it is expected that the President will be visiting the Parkland area. This visit would put into effect additional TFRs that could restrict the airspace around the Boca Raton Airport. The exact times of any additional TFRs are not yet known. It is vitally important to check all NOTAMs before any operation this weekend, as these TFRs can change with little notice.
Specific instructions and restrictions can also be found at http://tfr.faa.gov once the NOTAM has been issued.
