The Boca Raton Airport Authority
The Boca Raton Airport is publicly owned by the State of Florida, and independently operated by the Boca Raton Airport Authority (BRAA). The seven-member Board consists of five members appointed by the Boca Raton City Council, and two members appointed by the Palm Beach County Commission. Each member serves a term of two years.
The Authority directs the Executive Director, who works with a professional staff to carry out the daily operations of the Airport. The Executive Director and the Airport’s staff also identify various strategic initiatives to help the Airport achieve its long-term goals.
The Authority meets on the third Wednesday of the every month at 5:00 PM in the main conference room at the Boca Raton Airport Authority administration office.

Strategic Initiatives
Explore Land Opportunities
- Develop and initiate implementation of an airport beautification plan that includes Airport Road, enhanced lighting, landscaping and signage.
- Initiate a Precision Approach Feasibility Study.
Strengthen Community Relations
- Conduct quarterly meetings between Airport staff and Airport tenants.
- Conduct facilitated meetings with Airport Authority Board, Airport staff and community stakeholders.
- Explore opportunities with Florida Atlantic University for enhanced research.
Seek Economic Growth Opportunities
- Prepare an Economic Development Plan that focuses on broadening the Airport’s tenant base and creating jobs.
- Work with City of Boca Raton, Palm Beach County and State Economic Development departments to recruit and retain and/or expand airside businesses.
