The Boca Raton Airport Authority

The Boca Raton Airport is owned and operated by the Boca Raton Airport Authority (BRAA). The seven-member Board consists of five members appointed by the Boca Raton City Council, and two members appointed by the Palm Beach County Commission. Each member serves a term of two years.

The Authority directs the Executive Director, who works with a professional staff to carry out the daily operations of the Airport. The Executive Director and the Airport’s staff also identify various strategic initiatives to help the Airport achieve its long-term goals.

The Authority generally meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 5:00 p.m. in the main conference room of the Boca Raton Airport Authority Administration Building. Please view the Airport Authority Meeting Schedule for specific meeting dates

Strategic Initiatives

Explore Land Opportunities

  • Develop and initiate implementation of an airport beautification plan that includes Airport Road, enhanced lighting, landscaping and signage.
  • Initiate a Precision Approach Feasibility Study.

Strengthen Community Relations

  • Conduct quarterly meetings between Airport staff and Airport tenants.
  • Conduct facilitated meetings with Airport Authority Board, Airport staff and community stakeholders.
  • Explore opportunities with Florida Atlantic University for enhanced research.

Seek Economic Growth Opportunities

  • Prepare an Economic Development Plan that focuses on broadening the Airport’s tenant base and creating jobs.
  • Work with City of Boca Raton, Palm Beach County and State Economic Development departments to recruit and retain and/or expand airside businesses.
