The Boca Raton Airport Authority

The Boca Raton Airport is publicly owned by the State of Florida, and independently operated by the Boca Raton Airport Authority (BRAA). The seven-member Board consists of five members appointed by the Boca Raton City Council, and two members appointed by the Palm Beach County Commission. Each member serves a term of two years.

The Authority directs the Executive Director, who works with a professional staff of six to carry out the daily operations of the Airport. The Executive Director and the Airport’s staff also identify various strategic initiatives to help the Airport achieve its long-term goals.

The Authority meets on the third Wednesday of the every month at 6:00 PM in the City Council Chambers.

Strategic Initiatives

Explore Land Opportunities

  • Develop and initiate implementation of an airport beautification plan that includes Airport Road, enhanced lighting, landscaping and signage.
  • Initiate a Precision Approach Feasibility Study.

Strengthen Community Relations

  • Conduct quarterly meetings between Airport staff and Airport tenants.
  • Conduct facilitated meetings with Airport Authority Board, Airport staff and community stakeholders.
  • Explore opportunities with Florida Atlantic University for enhanced research.

Seek Economic Growth Opportunities

  • Prepare an Economic Development Plan that focuses on broadening the Airport’s tenant base and creating jobs.
  • Work with City of Boca Raton, Palm Beach County and State Economic Development departments to recruit and retain and/or expand airside businesses.
