Celebrating 25 Years of our Air Traffic Control Tower
Standing on the east side of Runway 05/23 is one of our most critical safety assets: the Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT). As we mark its 25th year in service, we’re taking a moment to recognize the role it has played in keeping our airport and community safe since opening in December 2000.

Our tower is one of 265 towers nationwide that participate in the Federal Aviation Administration Federal Contract Tower Program. Through this program, the FAA partners with qualified private companies to operate air traffic control towers, ensuring consistent safety standards and highly trained professionals at airports across the country.
For the past 25 years, air traffic controllers working in our tower have safely directed over 1 million aircraft operations, including takeoffs and landings. Each operation represents a coordinated effort between controllers, pilots, and airport personnel to maintain safe and efficient movement on and around the airfield.
