Celebrating One Year of the Boca Raton Airport Observation Area
On January 28, 2025, our Airport opened a unique space designed to bring the community closer to aviation: the Observation Area. One year later, it has welcomed over 8,000 visitors and become a hub for aviation enthusiasts, families, and community members, offering a blend of learning, leisure, and fun
The Observation Area is the only structure of its kind in Palm Beach County, featuring a circular 360-degree viewing design.
It’s comfortable and accessible, with shaded cover, weather-resistant materials, ADA-compliant access, seating, and lighting.
Educational signage and live air traffic control radio create an immersive experience, while nearby wildlife, including owls and turtles, adds a touch of nature.
Open from sunrise to sunset, it’s ideal for exploring aviation, enjoying the outdoors, or spending time with family.
Bicyclists can also extend their visit along the scenic El Rio Trail, which is located under one mile away from the Observation Area.

These events show how the Observation Area has grown beyond a plane-watching destination to become a versatile space for the community. Families, flight fans, and local organizations can enjoy its amenities while connecting with others over shared experiences.
