Project Overview

This project updated the Airport’s Noise Exposure Map (NEM), which occurred in 2001. The updated NEM provides a current representation of noise exposure to assess land use compatibility in areas surrounding the airport. The updated NEM was approved by the FAA in Summer 2026.

Project Benefits

Improved the NEM to accurately and effectively respond to noise concerns from the surrounding community.
Updated all Airport noise contours and noise exposure maps.
Analyzed the most recent annual aircraft operations and noise impacts to determine the levels of aviation-related noise around the Airport, in accordance with federal guidelines.
Developed a Noise Technical Advisory Committee (NTAC) who met to discuss assumptions and inputs to the NEM Update.
Gained input from community representatives and members through a series of public meetings led by the NTAC.
