Boca Raton Airport Authority Partners with Boca Helping Hands to Help Local Families
The Boca Raton Airport Authority (BRAA) celebrated National Volunteer Month in April by hosting its 3rd annual food drive and volunteering time to support Boca Helping Hands (BHH). The annual food drive was held from April 10-24, 2023, and finished with the collection of about 820 pounds of food for local families in need. Since 2021, the BRAA has hosted annual food drives and collected a total of over 2,000 pounds of food to benefit BHH. The BRAA is thankful for its tenants and staff who have helped to make the annual food drive a continued success.
The annual food drive culminated with a meal packing event at BHH that occurred on April 27, 2023. Volunteers from the BRAA, Atlantic Aviation, Signature Flight Support, and Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott packaged 156 pantry bags over two hours at BHH. The pantry bags were then distributed by BHH to their clients the following day. The BRAA looks forward to continuing its annual collaboration with BHH next year.
“It is always a great honor to volunteer with Boca Helping Hands, they are a staple for our community helping more than 27,000 people annually. The BRAA is grateful to have this opportunity to give back, and we look forward to collaborating with BHH for years to come” said Boca Raton Airport Authority Executive Director Clara Bennett.
