Hurricane Season Readiness: How Boca Raton Airport Gears Up for Storms
Hurricane Season officially starts on June 1st and ends on November 30th. As part of the annual preparations conducted by the Boca Raton Airport Authority (BRAA) in advance of the start of Hurricane Season, trees have been trimmed around the airport. Removing loose palm fronds, deadwood, or overgrown tree limbs will reduce potentially hazardous flying debris.
This task is a proactive effort to minimize flying objects that could damage windows, buildings, and vehicles during hurricane conditions.
It is also a crucial part of BRAA’s pre-hurricane season checklist, completed well in advance of the storm season due to its labor-intensive and time-consuming nature.
Once the pre-storm season tasks are completed, BRAA will be poised and ready to conduct last-minute checks in the event a storm develops.
