For the fourth year in a row, the Boca Raton Airport Authority, along with Airport Tenants, including Signature Flight Support, Reliable Jet Maintenance, Atlantic Aviation, Fairfield Inn and Suites, Boca Aircraft Maintenance and Privaira collected toys for the annual Marine Corps Toys for Tots Drive.

“This year, with the help of our Airport Tenants and the local community, we collected more toys than in the previous three years,” said Boca Raton Airport Authority (BRAA) Executive Director Clara Bennett.  “We were able to fill over 50 boxes with toys plus six bikes and seven scooters”. Bennett added that with the current COVID-19 pandemic, fewer Toys for Tots drop off locations and so many residents in need, the Airport Authority wanted to make this holiday as special as possible for the children in Palm Beach County.  “The Boca Raton Airport and our tenants are proud to support the Marine Corps in achieving this goal,” said Bennett.

This morning representatives from the US Marine Corps Toys for Tots arrived at the Boca Raton Airport Authority Administration Building and promptly filled two box trucks with donations, which will be distributed to children throughout Palm Beach County just in time for the holidays.

The Boca Raton Airport Authority would like to thank its tenants and the local community for their participation this year.  A special thank you goes to Boca Aircraft Maintenance (BAM), who went above and beyond this year by filling 15 boxes and donating five bicycles.  They did have some help from 10-year-old Jaydon Hudgins, the son of an associate at BAM.  Jaydon is currently in the 5th grade at FAU Henderson School and felt the need to do his part.  He knew people were busy and may not have time to shop, so he offered his services, raising funds from the staff at BAM along with family and friends and using those funds to purchase toys for the toy drive and help fill those boxes!

If you missed the Airport Authority’s toy drive, it is not too late to participate.  The US Marine Corps will continue collecting toys until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 18th.  Toys can be dropped off at the South Florida Fairgrounds.
