BCT PROCEDURES – Hurricane Irma – Update

/, News/BCT PROCEDURES – Hurricane Irma – Update

As Hurricane Irma’s forecasted track continues to shift closer to the Boca Raton area, it is important to begin taking the proper precautions to secure all leaseholds, hangars, and aircraft. Tropical storm force winds are expected to arrive overnight Friday and into Saturday morning, with hurricane force winds possible by Sunday morning. It is expected that the Boca Raton Airport will close Friday night with the arrival of these tropical storm force winds. It is recommended that all aircraft be relocated or secured by Friday afternoon.

To assist with the evacuation of aircraft, all construction activities have been canceled for Thursday night and Friday morning, and the airport will remain open.

Please check NOTAMs for the latest closure and airport condition information.  If you have any questions, please contact Airport Operations at 561-391-2202
