On October 24th, students from the Boynton Aerospace Science Academy (BASA) visited the Boca Raton Airport to tour the facilities and to learn about the diverse career opportunities available in the aviation field.

The tour lasted from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, enabling the students to tour Airport FBOs Atlantic Aviation and Signature Flight Support, as well as Boca Aircraft Maintenance, Reliable Jet Maintenance, Lynn University Flight School and the Air Traffic Control Tower (ATC).

Touring the various facilities and tenants enabled the students to get a glimpse of the day-to-day life of working at the Airport while learning about the various career opportunities that are available in the air and on the ground.

Students also got a better understanding of how they could work towards these careers. Representatives from local aviation education programs were on hand. Airport Executive Director Clara Bennett, and ATCT Manager Dave Bezanis spoke with students about the many opportunities available in the rapidly expanding aviation field, as well as the paths they may take to reach their career goals.

As a true community partner, we strive to create opportunities for students to learn about aviation and all of the possibilities the industry offers. By doing so, the students, the aviation industry and the local community all benefit.
